To maximize bearing life, be sure you relubricate units with a NLGI #2-compatible grease at intervals recommended for your application. Optimal intervals are based on the dn* value (inner ring diameter in mm x speed in RPM) and operating environment of your application.

Grease Fill Amounts

Relubricating bearings with the appropriate grease fill amount is critical to bearing life. For optimal distribution, apply lubricant through the grease fitting under low pressure during slow shaft rotation. Be careful not to overfill the bearing because it can cause seals to overheat and unseat.

Grease fill amounts should be based on your application experience. General guidelines include:
